Mangrove Honeyeater

This post is for World Bird Wednesday.

Mangrove Honeyeaters - often called Varied Honeyeaters - are common around the bay. If you hear a beautiful songbird calling from a mangrove tree this is most likely what you are hearing. I have cropped the second photo to show the bird's beautiful blue eye.

    Hi there - nice pictures. I suppose out honeyeaters are a bit like warblers elsewhere - a bit of a challenge until you get your eye in!

    Nice shot.
    Looks very similar to the Yellow-faced HE, but I remember their call is quite different - very melodious, as you say.

    I am happy for finding this bird meme - I am a biologist and very interested in a nature of our earth.
