White-throated Honeyeater

This is my first post for World Bird Wednesday. Go there to see a great variety of birds.

A few months ago White-throated Honeyeaters (Melithreptus albogularis) were frequent visitors to my garden but then they went away. Over the last few weeks I have seen them again but only when it was wet and windy. On good days when the photos would have been so much better they were nowhere to be seen! They seem to like the Hibiscus flowers or to hide up in the Callistemons.

  1. Nice shots all the same. They do love hibiscus and bottlebrush and also grevilleas.

  3. This is a great catch! Bird photography is difficult to say the least. The list of things that have to go correctly to get those rare perfect images is long. Many of them are beyond our control. I often forget to enjoy the sighting and the pleasure that is in the moment while I jumble with my camera. A White Throated Honeyeater perched in the Habiscus is a pretty big deal to me! ;-)WBW

  4. Thanks Springman. Time, place, bird, and camera seldom come together perfectly :-(
