Eastern Yellow Robin

I have seen these little birds in a number of different places around my area but, again, the best views I have had have been out at Inskip Point. The bush track out to the point has a great variety of birds sheltering in the trees and bushes. This photo was taken out there.

  2. Nice picture of a great little bird. Reminds me a bit of our butter-butts out here (yellow-rumped warbler).

  5. Thanks Gouldiae, I heard it calling after dark the other evening and friends with me said it was often the last bird to be heard in the evening.

  9. What an amazingly colourful Robin. It'd definitely Robin shaped but it looks so different from our Red-breasted one.

  10. Yes, Tricia, its very different from the lovely red ones you show on your blog. They look like real storybook ones to me!

  12. What a gorgeous robin and photo! There is something about yellow this time of year that makes my eyes leap! Think maybe I'm tired of winter?

  13. Hi Kallen and Vickie, thanks for your comments - and here's hoping your winter weather is soon gone.

  14. Beautiful bird and a great capture Mick. I too love the yellow. Very spring like. Is that bird standing on one foot? If so, is that a normal position for them? Just curious.

  16. Hi Larry, I went and looked at the other photos I had taken of the bird and one taken just a few seconds before shows both legs - so I don't know!

    Thanks Mosura.

I took a photo of one of these today, but it is too dark. I am really envious of your lovely shot.

  18. Thanks Denis, My bird book shows these robins all up and down the east coast - they must be very adaptable.
