Sky colors and Somerset Dam

I frequently travel by Somerset Dam. This dam is one of the water storage areas that help to supply the Brisbane area. The lake constantly changes color with the change in the color of the sky.

Bright sunny skies and a bright and peaceful lake.

A misty morning and a brooding lake.

  1. G'day Mick,
Couple of nice shots. The foreground in that first one looks pretty dry. I thought you'd had be a bit greener up there? You've reminded me I must take a picture of the fairways next door - the kikuyu has gone yellow.

  2. That's a great shot with the fog lifting in the sunshine.

  3. Thanks Juliana, Gouldiae and Mosura for your comments. Yes, that grass does look pretty dry to me too. I don't know how much rain it would take to make it look nice and green. It's pretty high above the lake so maybe the run-off is fast. Mosura the fog over the lake looked great but it was really nasty to drive in all the valleys that morning. Hard to see at all.
